Imagine
waking up every morning with smooth,
hair-free skin and not having to shave,
pluck, wax or bleach unwanted hair.
With Intense Pulse Light (IPL) hair
removal your dream may become a reality.
BHAAG offers the latest technology
currently available for hair removal,
delivering outstanding results to
the widest range of skin tones and
hair color. Why is Intense Pulse Light
(IPL) hair removal the best solution?
Intense Pulse Light (IPL) is selectively
absorbed by the hair-filled follicles
lying below the surface of the skin.
The absorbed light heats the hair,
which destroys the regrowth potential
of the follicle - all without damaging
the surrounding tissue!
Parameters are set to for effective
hair removal and skin safety Pigment
in hair shaft absorbs the light -
resulting heat damages each follicle
Damaged hairs are eliminated, with
excellent long-term results

What does
the treatment feel like?
Each pulse of light feels like a slight
sting or pinch, similar to the snap
of a rubber band. Patients agree that
the procedure is not unduly painful,
and certainly much less uncomfortable
than electrolysis. For sensitive patients,
a topical anesthetic cream may be
applied to sensitive areas.
Can all hair be treated?
IPL technology's unique design offers
you customized treatment according
to your hair color, texture and body
location, no matter how deep the follicles
are located. Any hair with at least
some pigment in it (black, brown,
red, and even blond) can be treated
effectively.
Is this safe
for all skin types?
IPL is the first hair removal procedure
proven to effectively treat unwanted
hair on all skin types, including
dark-skinned individuals such as those
of Black, Hispanic, and Asian descent.
Are there any
possible side effects?
Side effects are rare. You may experience
some slight redness or swelling at
the site of treatment, but this typically
goes away within hours. On rare occasions,
some blistering or bruising may occur,
but typically resolves quickly. Also,
the skin may become darker or lighter
following treatment, but will generally
return to normal within a few weeks.
Limiting sun exposure before and after
each treatment will minimize the risk
of complications.
What kind of
results should I expect?
IPL technology has been proven to
create a permanent reduction in the
number of re-growing hairs following
each treatment in most skin types.
The number of treatments required
depends on several factors related
to your specific kind of hair and
skin.
How many treatments
will be needed?
The number of treatments required
to obtain optimal results varies with
hair density, hair color, skin types,
the treatment area and your hair growth
cycle. The density of your hair and
its growth cycle are affected by many
things such as your age, ethnic background,
hormones or medications. IPL treatments
impair the growth capacity of hair
follicles when they are in a growth
cycle at the time of treatment. All
hair follicles are not active at the
same time. Depending upon the growth
cycle of the follicles when the treatment
is applied, several treatments with
a few weeks in between may be required
to obtain the optimal effect. A customized
treatment program will be designed
for you along with an estimate of
how many treatments you may need in
order to meet your expectations.
Is laser IPL
hair removal permanent?
At BHAAG, only laser technology that
are approved for permanent hair reduction
are used. This means most patients
will achieve long-term, stable reduction
in the number of hairs re-growing
in the treated areas. The amount of
permanent reduction increases with
the number of treatments. Occasionally,
you may have a few hairs re-grow over
a period of time.
How long do
the treatments take?
We can treat some areas in only a
few minutes. Others, such as the back
or legs, require 20-60 minutes. For
example, the underarms or bikini lines
take only fifteen minutes.
What should
I expect following the treatment?
Once the treatment is complete, the
area exposed to the laser is cleansed
and you are free to return to your
normal routine. Some patients may
experience a slight reddening around
hair follicles following the treatment,
which typically disappears within
a few minutes. It is always recommended
to avoid sun exposure or to use sunscreen
following the laser treatment.
Hair follicles affected by the laser
are lifeless and your body will attempt
to cast them off over a period of
time. It will seem that the hair continues
to grow for one to two weeks after
the procedure, but in fact these lifeless
hairs will easily fall out.
Is laser hair
removal safe?
Since only light is used to remove
hair, it is totally non-invasive.
Your eyes will be shielded during
the treatment. While there is a slight
chance of skin irritation and pigment
changes, these are rare due to the
type of lasers used at BHAAG and the
training of our staff.
